It seems like in today's world if you don't get a degree your looked down upon. The hipocracy of the situation is that with any decline in a job market more and more people with degrees are forced to take low paying jobs that have nothing to do with said degree. These people are drowning in debt from student loans and whatnot and these low paying jobs just wont pay the bills. Manual labor jobs are a neccessity; they will always be needed. I've done construction for three years now. I've worked on houses, churches, hotels, stores, apartments, prisons, medical centers, etc. Here is the connection, all the above places will always be in demand they will always be building more. I am fortunate enough the have a fairly sizeable amount of funding for college my grandfather left for me when he passed away. I plan on pursuing secondary education when I figure out what my next move is. For now I'm gaining some helpful lessons in life not just the value of a dollar but skills I can fall back on if my future schooling just doesn't cut it. Working such a physically demanding job where im never in town for a couple of days more will make me appreciate anything else I ever do and encourage me to better myself as much as possible.
